ICON was founded on May 20th 1972, in Criciúma- Santa Catarina.
At first it aimed to manufacture machines and matrixes for supplying the ceramic industry and mining. For its technology ICON exceeded the market expectations and started diversifying its production, also supplying other industrial sectors. Through technology transfer agreements with research centers and reference companies abroad,  ICON acquired technology to manufacture equipment for industries such as chemical, cement, fertilizer, food mining and steel, among others.
